Alexey BIRKUS is an Award-Winning Opera Singer from Belarus. He sings as Basso Cantabile.
2015 - Won the Award 'Best Young Male Singer' at the Austrian Music Theater Awards - Vienna (A)
2016 - Finalist in the 2016 Germany Song Contest 'Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg' (D)
He has performed all over the world, including the USA, Russia, Turkey, Italy, Germany, Austria, Switzerland etc. singing some of the world's most famous operas.
ALEXEY BIRKUS performs as Guest in many Theaters around the globe.
In 2018 Mr Birkus was invited to sing the Season Opening and Opera Première of 'I Puritani' in the role of Sir Giorgio at the Teatro Verdi di Trieste with Mo. CARMINATI as conductor and Katia RICCIARELLI as stage director. For this debut, Mr Birkus received great praise in the Italian press among others.
In 2016, Mr Birkus was Finalist of the first edition of the 'Meistersinger von Nürnberg' Song Contest, where he was distinguished among over 500 other contestants and acclaimed by a jury of Opera Directors and Record Label Managers.
Between 2015 and 2018, Mr Birkus was an Ensemble Member of the Staatstheater Nürnberg in Germany where he still resides.
Between 2013 and 2015, Mr Birkus was an Ensemble Member of the Salzburg National Theater in Austria, and was invited to perform in Turkey.
He was Awarded the Prize for 'Best Young Male Singer' at the Television Broadcast of the Austrian Music Awards in Vienna for his performance as Prince Gremin in Tchaikovsky's 'Eugen Onegin'.
From 2011 to 2013, Alexey Birkus sang in Basel and Biel/Solothurn in Switzerland, and in Palermo, Italy.
In 2010 Mr. Birkus was selected as member of 'OperAvenir' in Basel.
Alexey Birkus was born in Belarus, and holds a degree as Choir Conductor from the Performing Arts University of Minsk and has studied Opera at the Young Singer Academy at the Mariinsky Theater in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
Mr. Birkus studied vocal technique with Mo. Vincenzo Manno in Milan until his passing, now with Mo. Vittorio TERRANOVA in Milan and with David Holst in Rome, and took part in a masterclass with Teresa Berganza.
